There are so many things happening in our lives right now. One big blessing is that we have started an intensive 9 month study of the Bible called "DISCIPLE". Our small group of believers is praying together, searching God's word together, and discovering new insights and new information concerning God, God's ways, and the scripture in God's word. |

We are also heavily involved in a project to raise money for our church building fund. We would like to have our own church building. There is a Holiday Auction, many gift, services which were donated by local merchants. And the Grand Prize will be a Mercedes Benz if we are able to sell enough tickets. >>CLICK HERE<< There will also be what's called "A MAGICAL NIGHT OF GIVING at Polaris Mall - many non-profit organizations are selling tickets to gain entrance to the mall for a special night of sales. There will be around $17,000 worth of door prizes given away. Tickets can be purchased from various congregation members. |

And one of the Daily Devotionals from the "UPPER ROOM" was about the scripture of the Pharisee & the Tax Collector, & who ended up justified before the Lord - in Luke 18:9-14. Right before this scripture is the parable of the Woman that kept after a Judge to give her JUSTICE in Luke 18:1-8. I believe the King James version said, "because of her IMPORTUNITY, the Judge gave her justice." When I read the verses for the lesson I was using Stephen's Bible...and some commentary really blessed me. |

The following is for the most part was taken from the "Knowing Jesus Study Bible" and the notes to the side....... " Jesus cared about the "little people" in life, and that concern is showcased in Luke 18:9-14, a parable in which our Lord juxtaposed an arrogant individual (a Pharisee [no doubt a leader in the synagogue]) with a humble man (a tax collector [looked down upon by the Jews for one reason as siding with the captors]) . The real heroes in the eyes of Jesus as portrayed in many of his parables are the underdogs - the "have-nots" who have no standing in the eyes of their more fortunate counterparts. The villains, on the other hand, are people who are heartless and unfair, pompous and condescending in their self-righteousness. Jesus wanted people to know that God's Love for them has NOTHING TO DO with what they are like. OUR INADEQUACIES - OR OUR ADEQUACIES! - don't matter to God. GOD SIMPLY WANTS OUR HEARTS!!!!!" |

It looked like some that I USED TO GIVE OUT many years ago when I would witness to people about the Lord... this one is very special. REGULATIONS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT.....rather than BELIEVING IN THE GRACE OF GOD THAT WAS BOUGHT FOR US BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST....see Galatians 2 the whole chapter but especially verse 16 which reads "Yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall NO ONE BE JUSTIFIED." And also Collosians 2:13-14 "And you, who were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, having canceled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross." NOT FREEDOM TO SIN, BUT FREEDOM FROM THE BONDAGE OF THE LAW. It was nailed to the Cross with Our Loving Savior. Grace of God through Faith in Jesus Christ!!!!!! |
